For 15-year-old Mila Skou-Christensen, it is not the biggest gestures that define her game. It is the stability. The reliability. The ability to deliver match after match.
Those very qualities, developed as part of the HB Køge Women youth academy, have taken her all the way to the Denmark U16 national team.
“I was incredibly happy and proud when I was told that I had been selected. Representing Denmark’s youth national team has been one of my biggest goals.”
Family also plays a significant role for Mila Skou-Christensen, as the busy everyday schedule often requires strong planning skills and a positive, supportive environment.
“My family supports me unconditionally and helps me with everything they can. I sometimes have very long days, so it means a lot that they support me and help make everyday life work. My parents are also great people to talk to and always listen if something is bothering me,” says Mila Skou-Christensen.
Although she has already taken an important step with the U16 national team, her ambitions do not stop there.
“I dream of one day playing for the HB Køge Women first team and, of course, becoming a regular national team player.”
Stability as a Strength
Mila Skou-Christensen joined the HB Køge Women academy in January 2024, having previously played for B93. She has developed steadily and in recent months has particularly established herself as a full-back on both sides.
“With her pace and ability to time her defensive interceptions, she contributes both offensively and defensively. She solves her tasks and works loyally for the team,” says Head of Coaching, David L. Rigelsen, who highlights Mila Skou-Christensen’s greatest strength as a player — her consistency.
“Mila may not be the most eye-catching type of player, but you can always rely on a solid performance. She is calm, rarely panics in pressured situations, and is a teammate you can always trust.”
Mila Skou-Christensen was selected for the Denmark U16 national team that participated in the UEFA Development Tournament, where she got playing time in the match against the United States, which also marked her debut.
