Sarah Thygesen extends her contract with HB Køge Women until 2027

HB Køge Women can look forward to several more seasons with winger Sarah Thygesen, who has extended her contract with the club until the summer of 2027. At the same time, Sarah is celebrating her 22nd birthday a day that includes cake, a match, and a contract extension.

Thygesen joined HB Køge in 2023 and has since played 49 matches and scored 8 goals. In addition to her performances in the club jersey, she has also represented Denmark at several youth national team levels and has one senior national team appearance on her CV. Most recently, she has been part of the Danish U23 national team.

Sporting Director Jonas Nielsen is delighted that Sarah will remain at the club for two more years:

“We are very happy that Sarah is staying with the club. She has all the tools we look for in a player, she is strong in one-on-one situations, fast, has a very good left foot, and is dangerous in front of goal. In addition, she fits very well into the squad both on and off the pitch. She enjoys being here, and we are incredibly happy to have her as part of the team.”

For Sarah Thygesen herself, the decision to extend her contract was an easy one:

“I’m really happy to have extended my agreement with HB Køge Women. The club has a clear direction and big ambitions, which we work towards every day. I thrive here because there is a strong sense of togetherness both on and off the pitch, and that means a lot to me. At the same time, we are constantly challenged and held to high standards as players, which motivates me to improve and develop. I’m therefore looking forward to continuing with the club and contributing to achieving our goals together.”
