Routine victory on Easter Sunday

There was action at Køge Idrætspark on Easter Sunday, as HB Køge Women hosted AGF in the fourth round of the Championship Playoff. It was a match that rounded off a hectic run of fixtures for the team in recent weeks.

The first 20 minutes saw both sides settling into the game, with neither team creating any major chances. But the opening goal would come. A corner from Sarah Thygesen was whipped powerfully into the box, where Ida Marie Jørgensen got to the ball first – with a rather unconventional finish. She managed to guide the ball past the goalkeeper with her hip, making it 1–0 to HB Køge Women. It was also her first official goal for the club.

There was little action in terms of chances for the remainder of the first half, apart from a late opportunity for AGF, but their close-range effort went over the bar. As a result, HB Køge Women went into halftime with a 1–0 lead.

The second half was only 10 minutes old when Emilia Pelgander received the ball at her feet. She dribbled all the way from midfield towards the AGF goal and got a shot away. The ball went past the AGF goalkeeper, allowing Pelgander to score her first goal for HB Køge Women in fine style.

There were few major chances for the rest of the match, and the Swans comfortably saw out a 2–0 victory.

With this win, combined with results elsewhere, HB Køge Women head into the international break with a six-point lead over second-placed Brøndby IF.
