Mille Gejl has been named HB Køge Women’s Player of the Year after a season in which she has been a central figure on the team.
The award was presented in connection with the final match of the year – the Women’s Cup quarterfinal against AGF. The 26-year-old captain has played 20 matches this autumn and scored 9 goals. The only match she did not take part in was the cup game against OKS.
Regarding the award, sporting director Jonas Nielsen says:
“Mille Gejl has been named HB Køge Women’s Player of the Year because from day one she has been exactly the profile and sporting capacity we hoped for. She has performed at an extremely high level on the pitch and has been crucial to our results throughout the season.”
“When Mille joined HB Køge Women, we wanted to give her an important role within the squad – not only as a player but also as a leader. She has not only accepted that responsibility; she has grown into it in a way that has impressed all of us. She takes enormous responsibility in the dressing room, in the daily work, and for the group dynamic. Mille is one of the main reasons behind the fantastic atmosphere and culture we have in the team today.”
“In short: Mille has become a key figure both on and off the pitch, and her importance to the team cannot be overstated.”
Mille joined the club in the summer of 2025 after several years abroad, with spells at BK Häcken, North Carolina Courage, Montpellier, and most recently Crystal Palace. She scored two goals on her HB Køge Women debut in the 3–1 win over OB Q on 12 August 2025.
