Tomorrow afternoon will be a big day at Køge Idrætspark. HB Køge Women will take to the pitch for one of the biggest matches in the club’s history when they face FC Nordsjælland in the cup final. It will be the first time ever that HB Køge Women play in a cup final, and therefore also a chance to write a new chapter in the club’s history — on home ground, no less!

Head coach Kristian Mørch is really looking forward to tomorrow’s clash, which both he and the squad have been eagerly anticipating.

“We’re really looking forward to it. It’s not really something you’ve been able to spend three weeks getting excited about, even though we qualified some time ago, because we’ve had so many other important matches. The excitement has really built over the past few days, and the squad is truly ready, so it’s going to be fun,” says Kristian Mørch.

The cup competition has given HB Køge Women the opportunity to get more minutes into the players’ legs throughout the season, giving the team an even better chance to grow together on the pitch. Now they find themselves in a final that they are fully determined to win.

“The cup has been a bit of a bonus for us, but it’s also been something the squad has been very focused on whenever we’ve gone into matches. We want to win every game along the way. There’s been some rotation during the tournament, but the squad has been strong enough, even against good opposition. That just says a little about the quality we possess,” says the head coach.

Now the stage is set for one of the biggest matches of the season, and in the HB Køge Women camp they are hoping for massive support from the stands.

“We’re really looking forward to playing in what we hope will be an outstanding atmosphere. We have players who have experienced all sorts of things throughout their careers, and I can really feel that they don’t need to motivate themselves in the same way this time around. There’s a bit more help coming from the outside, so it’s going to be fun,” says Kristian Mørch.

Kick-off for the cup final is at 3:00 PM, and if you haven’t already secured your ticket, you can do so here.

If you’re unable to make it to Køge Idrætspark, the match will be broadcast live on DR1 or DRTV. Coverage begins at 2:45 PM.
