HB Køge Women are delighted to announce the signing of 18-year-old Zambian winger Mercy Chipasula, who joins the club from Kamfinsa Blue Eagles Queens in her home country of Zambia.
The agreement with Mercy Chipasula has been in place for some time, but the young winger has been awaiting her work permit. That has now been approved, allowing her to finally join the squad.
Sporting Director Jonas Nielsen is delighted that the club can now officially welcome the Zambian talent.
“We have been looking forward to getting the paperwork regarding Mercy’s work permit finalised, so it is great to finally have her here. Mercy has something special that we rarely see in young players in Denmark. She is strong in one-on-one situations and has qualities on the ball that we have been missing in the squad.
“That is also why we are proud to have managed to sign her ahead of some of the biggest clubs in the world, and we are already seeing interest in her before she has even played her first game for us. She has only just turned 18, so we need to give her time and be patient. But I can promise our fans that we have signed a player who is going to entertain,” says Jonas Nielsen.
Despite her young age, Mercy Chipasula has already made her mark on the international stage. At the 2024 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which was played in 2025, she was part of the Zambia senior national team at just 17 years old. She started against DR Congo and came off the bench in the quarter-final against Nigeria.
Mercy was once again part of the Zambian squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which was played this summer. She made two appearances from the bench during the group stage.
Before making her senior international appearances, Mercy also represented Zambia at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on two occasions.
The 18-year-old winger is now looking forward to beginning the next chapter of her career with HB Køge Women, which she believes is the right place to continue her development.
“I chose to join the club because I believe it is the best place for me to develop. I am still young and know that I have a lot to learn, so I feel that HB Køge Women is the right place for me to take the next steps in my career. The club’s proud history was also an important reason why I chose to come here. I am really looking forward to getting started and beginning a new chapter in my career. I promise to work hard and do everything I can to contribute to the club’s continued success,” says Mercy Chipasula.
Mercy will wear the number 10 shirt for HB Køge Women.
Welcome to HB Køge Women, Mercy!
