HB Køge Women Sign American Defender Sydney Jones

HB Køge Women have strengthened their squad with the addition of 23-year-old American defender Sydney Jones, who joins the club from sister club Kansas City Current. Sydney is a versatile defender capable of playing across the back line as well as in a defensive midfield role.

Sydney Jones arrives in Køge after spending time within the Kansas City Current organization, where she primarily represented the club’s reserve side while also training with the first team on several occasions. In 2025, she signed her first professional contract with NWSL side Utah Royals, making one appearance before moving to Kansas City Current II.

Before beginning her professional career, Jones enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career at Ohio State University, starting all 82 matches for the Buckeyes between 2021 and 2024. She has also represented the United States at U18 level, earning two international caps.
