Big home win against Kolding IF

Kolding IF visited Capelli Sport Stadion on Saturday, 1 November, where HB Køge Women delivered a strong performance and showed great sharpness in front of goal.

The match had barely begun before HB Køge took the lead. After just six minutes, Nadia Nadim fired the ball into the net to make it 1–0 following a beautifully constructed attack, where Signe Markvardsen played the ball across the box to Nadim, who calmly slotted home her seventh league goal of the season.

Mille Gejl, who had started for Denmark in both matches against Finland during the international break, quickly showed why. After a fine assist from Nadia Nadim, Gejl struck the ball through the legs of a Kolding defender and into the side netting for 2–0.

Shortly before halftime, however, the visitors reduced the score to 2–1 from the penalty spot, after Courtney Ruedt conceded a foul inside the box.

The second half began just like the first with an early goal from HB Køge. Cassandra Korhonen broke free down the left side, cut inside, and placed the ball past the goalkeeper for 3–1. Just five minutes later, the Swans effectively sealed the match when Rikke Marie Madsen was beautifully played through by Nadia Nadim and finished with a precise strike to make it 4–1.

The goal celebration continued when substitute Emelía Óskarsdóttir scored her first league goal after more than a year out with injury. She was left completely unmarked in front of goal by Cassandra Korhonen and calmly put away her first league goal to make it 5–1.

In stoppage time, Nadia Nadim rounded off the match by scoring her eighth league goal, securing the final scoreline of 6–1.

With the victory, HB Køge Women remain top of the A-League, eight points ahead of second-placed Fortuna Hjørring, who face FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.
