For 15-year-old Augusta Guldager, football is about more than results. It is about development, community, and daring to dream big. Since joining the HB Køge Women youth academy, she has experienced what it means to be part of an ambitious and value-driven development environment.
“It means a lot to me that there is investment in the youth teams. High standards are set so that we have the best possible foundation to reach our goals. At the same time, we receive a lot of support, which motivates me every single day,” says Augusta Guldager.
On the pitch, she has quickly made her mark as a player with technical quality, strong game intelligence, and the courage to take responsibility. All of these qualities contributed to her selection for the U16 national team.
“When I was told that I had been selected, I felt proud, surprised, and of course incredibly happy. It’s huge, and I’ve always dreamed of playing for Denmark. In many ways, it’s recognition of the work I put in every day.”
A strong community
Since the summer of 2025, Augusta Guldager has been part of the HB Køge Women youth academy, where she has quickly made an impression.
“Augusta is a player we had followed for a long time and strongly wanted to bring into the club. We knew we were getting a technically skilled player with a natural ability to find positions between the lines. Over the autumn, Augusta significantly improved in terms of being decisive in matches with goals and assists. Her development also meant that before the winter break she was permanently promoted to the U19 squad – a step that highlights her potential,” says Head of Coaching David L. Rigelsen.
It is precisely the combination of Augusta Guldager’s footballing and personal qualities that makes her such an exciting player.
“Augusta’s first touch, dribbling ability, and ball-carrying skills are at a high level. At the same time, she has a curious and proactive approach, which has made it easy to integrate her into the squad.”
The culture and ambitions are exactly what make the HB Køge Women academy special for Augusta.
“I’ve only been at the club for six months, but I can already feel a really strong sense of unity. I feel like I’ve known the girls much longer because they have been so welcoming. We support each other both when things are going well and when things are difficult.
And there’s a fantastic energy during training, where we always have fun together,” says Augusta Guldager.
Augusta Guldager was selected for the U16 national team that participated in the UEFA Development Tournament, where she made her debut in the match against the USA and also featured in the game against Spain.
