Marie Lynge Olesen Appointed New U19 Head Coach

HB Køge Women continues to strengthen its player development pathway and can today announce that Marie Lynge Olesen will join the club as Head Coach of the U19 team following the summer break.

Marie brings significant experience from the Danish A-League, where she has spent the past two seasons as Assistant Coach at AGF. During that period, she also led the team as Head Coach in two league matches, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of Danish women’s football.

“We are incredibly proud to present Marie as our new U19 Head Coach. The fact that we are able to attract a coach of Marie’s caliber is a clear signal of the direction HB Køge Women is heading. From day one, it has been a priority for our ownership group to invest meaningfully in youth development, and that commitment is something we see every day,” said Jonas Nielsen, Sporting Director of HB Køge Women, before continuing:

"Our ambition is to develop future first-team players in our own way and with a clear HB Køge Women DNA. Marie has fully embraced that vision, and we are confident she is the right person to lead that development. We look forward to following Marie’s work with the next generation of players.”

On joining HB Køge Women, Marie Lynge Olesen says:

It is an exciting opportunity to step into a larger football ecosystem through the connection with Kansas City Current, and I look forward to learning from Kristian Mørch and all the talented people throughout the club, both on the senior side and within the academy.

At the same time, I am genuinely excited to take responsibility for the U19 team. This is a crucial age group, where players are approaching the transition into senior football and where the final building blocks must be put in place. I look forward to helping prepare these young players as well as possible so they are ready to take the next step. It is a responsibility I am excited to embrace, and I believe there are many great experiences and successes ahead for the team.”
