Head coach Kristian Mørch was all smiles after a convincing 3-0 victory.

HB Køge Women made the perfect start to the new season with an impressive 3-0 road win over FC København on Monday evening at Vanløse Stadium.

Head Coach Kristian Mørch was especially pleased with the way his team settled into the match after a nervous opening.

"It's a typical first game of the season where there are naturally a few nerves. But as the game went on, we started to put our play together much better. The chemistry between our attacking players grew stronger, and once we got the first goal, you could feel the relief throughout the team. That gave us the composure we needed," says Kristian Mørch, who highlighted the team move behind Kyra Carusa's opening goal.

"Zuzanna came on and did exactly what we know she's capable of. Her first touch set the move up perfectly, we played through behind their back line, and created the spaces we wanted to attack. Kyra stayed calm in front of goal and showed the quality she brings to this team."

Shortly afterward, Emelía Óskarsdóttir doubled the lead following a well-worked attacking move that reflected much of what the squad had focused on throughout preseason.

"Emelía has had a really strong preseason and fully deserved her place in the starting lineup. We identified opportunities at the back post, and she executed it perfectly. It was unfortunate that she had to leave the game after a heavy collision, but she delivered an excellent performance," Mørch explained.

In the second half, Cassandra Korhonen put the result beyond doubt with HB Køge Women's third goal, using her pace and composure to finish off another dangerous attack.

"That's a very typical Cassandra goal. We win the ball high up the field, transition quickly, and she takes responsibility by finishing the move herself. It was great to see her be so decisive, and she finished with real confidence."

The victory gives HB Køge Women the perfect start to the new campaign and an important three points on opening day.

The Swans now turn their attention to their first home match of the season on Saturday, August 1, when they host ASA Aarhus at Køge Idrætspark. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
