HB Køge Women is pleased to announce the appointment of Jakob Thorsen as the club’s new Commercial Director. Bringing nearly two decades of experience from the Danish music industry, Jakob will play a key role in driving the club’s commercial growth, strategic partnerships, and fan experience initiatives.
Jakob joins HB Køge Women following an 18-year career with leading entertainment companies including EMI Records and Warner Music Denmark, where he specialized in business development, brand strategy, partnerships, and creating meaningful connections between artists, fans, and commercial partners.
"I’m excited to build on the success HB Køge Women has already achieved, most recently highlighted by the club’s historic Danish Cup victory. We have several exciting projects ahead, including the opening of our new stadium, and I look forward to developing creative partnership models that create real value for both the club and our partners. I’m also excited to bring lessons from the music industry into football and help create memorable experiences for everyone who comes to support the team," said Jakob Thorsen.
Driving Commercial Growth and Fan Experience
As Commercial Director, Jakob will focus on strengthening the club’s commercial platform, developing strategic partnerships, and enhancing the overall matchday and fan experience.
"I’ve always been passionate about football, and women’s football is experiencing tremendous and well-deserved growth both on and off the pitch. HB Køge Women is an ambitious and independent club with a clear vision for the future, and I’m incredibly excited to become part of that journey," said Jakob Thorsen.
HB Køge Women President Alex Levin believes Jakob’s experience and mindset make him a strong addition to the club’s leadership team.
"Jakob brings a unique combination of commercial expertise, brand-building experience, and partnership development. Just as importantly, he shares our ambition to continue building a club that is innovative, community-focused, and positioned for long-term success. His experience creating engagement and meaningful experiences will be invaluable as we continue to grow our impact locally, nationally, and internationally," said Alex Levin.
Building Strong Community Partnerships
For Jakob, local businesses and community relationships will be a central part of his work at HB Køge Women.
"Local businesses and community partners are fundamental to the club’s future. The best partnerships are never just about visibility; they are about creating long-term relationships, shared value, and a sense of belonging. I look forward to becoming an active part of the Køge business community and working together to create growth, pride, and new opportunities throughout the region," said Jakob Thorsen.
