HB Køge Women sign young attacking talent

HB Køge Women have signed 15-year-old Bodil Gantzhorn, who joins the club from Dalum/Næsby.

Despite her young age, Bodil has already made her debut for Dalum/Næsby’s first team, who were playing in the Danish third tier at the time. Her debut came away against Aalborg Freja on a very special day – her 15th birthday. She has also taken part in several Danish FA (DBU) youth national team training camps.

Head of Coaching David Lee Rigelsen is delighted with the arrival of the young talent.

“Bodil is a player we have been following for some time, and despite her young age, she has already played plenty of matches at U19 Division level as a 14- and 15-year-old, while also contributing with a lot of goals.

“Both as a player and a person, she fits really well with what we are building at HB Køge. She is an attacking player who has primarily played out wide, but she also has the qualities to play in other attacking positions for us. She has a good physical presence and is very powerful, while also possessing really good ability on the ball. That makes her incredibly difficult to dispossess, whether she is facing forward or playing with her back to goal.

“We are extremely pleased that we have managed to bring her to Køge ahead of several other clubs, and we believe that, together with Bodil, we can continue to develop and unlock her great potential.”

Bodil also sees the move to HB Køge Women as the right step in her development.

“I wanted to challenge myself in a new and serious environment where the demands are higher. I want to develop as much as possible and see how far I can take my football – and in the long term, I dream of having a career abroad,” says Bodil.

Bodil will join the club’s U19 team.
