HB Køge Women are bringing the 21-year-old Swedish midfielder Emilia Pelgander to the club. The young midfielder has played for several Swedish youth national teams and is currently the captain of the U23 national team.
“With Emilia Pelgander, we are getting a midfielder at a very high level, which is also reflected in her role as captain of the Swedish U23 national team. Despite her young age, she brings both quality and experience to our midfield.
Emilia is a tactically strong player with notable defensive qualities and an ability to read the game at a very high level. From a relatively deep position, she has a natural overview and a clear understanding of when the tempo of the game needs to increase or decrease. We see her as a fantastic addition to an already incredibly strong midfield,” says Sporting Director Jonas Nielsen.
Emilia has played top-division football in Sweden for KIF Örebro and in the English top league, the WSL, for Leicester City. Most recently, she has been on loan at FC Rosengård. Now she is looking forward to coming to Denmark and HB Køge Women, where she has one clear goal:
“HB Køge Women is a club with high ambitions, that wants to invest significantly and develop, and I believe I can take the next step in my career here. I will give everything to ensure that we, as a team, perform and progress, and I hope I can help the team win the league,” says Emilia.
Emilia met her new teammates yesterday, where she also took part in her first training session.
Welcome to the club, Emilia!
