HB Køge Women profiles Called Up to Danish National Team

It is a major and exciting piece of news for HB Køge Women that three players, Mille Gejl, Simone Boye and Alberte Vingum, have been selected for the Danish national team roster, which begins the World Cup qualification campaign toward the 2027 finals.

That HB Køge Women is the only club from the league with players in the national team roster underlines the sporting level within the club and the depth of the profiles who will now wear the red and white colors.

With 93 senior caps, Simone Boye continues to anchor Denmark’s back line with calm, presence, and international experience. As the team enters a qualification campaign where every detail matters, her leadership will be invaluable.

On the call up, Simone Boye says:
“I truly appreciate being given the opportunity to play for the national team. It is always special to be part of it, and it is especially exciting now that we are about to begin matches to qualify for the World Cup. And after nearly 100 caps, it still means an incredible amount to represent Denmark.”

A great honor both sporting and personal
Mille Gejl has played 39 senior international matches and is an established and stable part of the national team. With consistent performances, Mille contributes balance, work rate, and tactical understanding.

“It is always something very special to be selected for the national team and to have the opportunity to represent Denmark. I am both proud and grateful to be part of the upcoming World Cup qualification matches. I look forward to gathering with the girls again, and especially to playing in front of the Danish fans in Horsens and hopefully getting off to a good start in the qualification,” says Mille Gejl.

Recognition of the daily work
For Alberte Vingum, the call up marks a significant moment in her career. It is the culmination of focused effort in her daily work and a clear signal of the development she has gone through.

“It means an enormous amount to me. From a sporting perspective, it is a big step and a recognition of the work I have put in at the club,” says Alberte Vingum and continues:

“I am proud to be part of the national team and to play for Denmark on the international stage. It gives me extra motivation to always deliver my best. I look forward to building on what we are working on as a squad and to continuing my development in the national team environment. I always look forward to the camps – both the work on the pitch and the sense of community within the group and seeing the others again.”

Mille Gejl, Simone Boye and Alberte Vingum are all included in the squad that will play the first qualification match against Serbia on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:00 PM in Horsens.

The team will then travel to Vicenza, Italy, where Italy awaits on Saturday, March 7 at 6:15 PM. Both matches will be broadcast on DR.
