HB Køge Women Crowned Danish Champions and Complete “The Double”

HB Køge Women have written a new chapter in the club’s history!

With an 3-1 victory over Kolding IF at home on Saturday, HB Køge Women secured the Danish A-League Championship. Combined with the Danish Women’s Cup title earlier this season, the club has, for the first time in its history, won both the Danish Championship and the Danish Women’s Cup in the same season completing The Double.

For the club’s owners, Angie and Chris Long, the record-setting performance marks the culmination of an incredible first year of investment and stewardship following their acquisition of HB Køge Women in May 2025.

“When we invested in HB Køge Women, it was about much more than results on the pitch. We saw an opportunity to build something long-term and meaningful – a club with strong values, a clear purpose, and a deep connection to the local community. This title is the result of hard work from our players, staff, volunteers, partners, and fans, all of whom believed in the journey. We are proud of what we have accomplished together, but even more excited about what lies ahead. This is just the beginning of a new era for the club, one where we once again have the opportunity to represent Køge and Danish women’s football on the European stage and create memorable experiences together with our fans,” says Angie and Chris Long.

More Than a Championship

Since acquiring the club, HB Køge Women has worked purposefully to strengthen the club’s foundation across sporting, commercial, and organizational areas. At the same time, the club has invested in player development, community initiatives, and local engagement with the ambition of creating long-term value both on and off the pitch.

Club President Alex Levin views the championship as a reflection of the culture and standards that have been built throughout the past year.

“This is a truly special day for everyone connected to HB Køge Women. Winning The Double is the result of tremendous work across the entire organization. From our players and staff to our dedicated volunteers, partners, and fans, everyone has contributed to the culture that made this possible. We are proud of what we have achieved, but we also see this title as another step in the club’s development. The support we receive in Køge and throughout our community fuels our ambitions, and we remain committed to building a club that the city can be proud of – both on and off the pitch,” said Alex Levin.

Head Coach Kristian Mørch views The Double as the result of the mentality and culture the team has built throughout the season.

“Talent alone is never enough. What makes a champion is the commitment to high standards, the willingness to improve every day, and the determination to perform consistently when it matters most. This group has shown incredible character, discipline, and resilience from the first day of preseason until now. The players have embraced the culture we wanted to create, challenged each other to improve every day, and earned this success through their hard work and dedication. I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

This accomplishment also reflects the support and belief we have received from the club’s ownership, leadership, staff, volunteers, partners, and fans. Everyone has played a part in creating an environment where excellence can thrive. Winning The Double is a special achievement, and one this team has truly earned,” says Head Coach Kristian Mørch.

The championship also secures HB Køge Women a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification rounds next season.

For HB Køge Women, The Double concludes a truly historic season and sets focus on a new one in which the club will aim to strengthen its position within Danish women’s football, and take new steps toward establishing itself on the European stage.
