Before the final match of the year — the Women’s Cup quarterfinal against AGF — several players were celebrated for their achievements in 2025. The choice for Talent of the Year this year fell on 19-year-old Emelía Óskarsdóttir. The award is sponsored by Rox Resort.
Sporting director Jonas Nielsen comments on why Emelía received the award:
“Emelía receives the Talent of the Year award because she has been a shining example of hard work, perseverance, and development in 2025. After more than a year out with injury, she made her comeback in the autumn and has since fought every single day to prove her level — and she has absolutely done that. With two hat-tricks in the cup and several strong appearances in the A-Liga, she has delivered performances that not only speak to her talent but have also helped inspire the entire team. There’s almost nothing that brings more joy to the squad than seeing Emelía succeed.”
“But the award is about more than her performances. Emelía is a unique bundle of joy, and her energy and positivity spread through the team every single day. During her long injury layoff, she managed to keep her spirits high while creating warmth and positivity around her, and that says everything about her as a person.”
“One of the most telling moments came when she received the award. Instead of talking about herself or her journey, she stood up and gave a speech entirely about the team — about togetherness, the atmosphere at HB Køge Women, and the love and energy within the squad. That says everything about Emelía. She is humble, she is the team’s little sister, and we cannot wait to see much more of her in the future.”
Emelía joined the club in 2023 and played 7 matches and scored 1 goal before suffering an ACL injury that kept her sidelined for 406 days. She made her comeback in the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup match against FCV Farul Constanța and has since played 12 matches this autumn, scoring an impressive 9 goals — including five in the cup match against OKS and three in the cup match against FC Copenhagen. Her 10th goal came in the A-Liga match against Kolding IF.
In total, the Icelandic forward has now played 19 matches and scored 10 goals for the club.
