A Historic Day Awaits: HB Køge Women Chasing the Double on Home Turf

Saturday, June 13 could become a historic day for HB Køge Women as the club hosts Kolding IF at Køge Idrætspark in the final match of the 2025/26 A-League season.

Following the club’s Danish Women’s Cup triumph earlier this month, HB Køge Women now has the opportunity to complete a historic achievement by winning both the Danish Championship and the Danish Women’s Cup in the same season.

The club is therefore encouraging the entire city to mark the date and be part of a day filled with football, community, and hopefully a historic celebration!

The opportunity to complete the double comes just one year into a new era for HB Køge Women. The commitment and investment from the club’s ownership group, combined with the dedication of players, staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters, have helped accelerate the club’s development both on and off the pitch and positioned the team for one of the most successful seasons in club history.

One Match Away from History

Start the day at Køge Idrætspark, where the team will be fighting for the final points needed in the championship race! If the title is secured, the celebrations will continue later at Køge Town Square, where players, staff, fans, and the wider community will come together to celebrate the season.

The opportunity to compete for both trophies just one year into a new era for HB Køge Women is a testament to the commitment of our ownership group, the investment made across the club, and the dedication of everyone involved in our journey,” says HB Køge Women President Alex Levin and continues:

If we are successful, supporters will have the opportunity to witness the team lift the Danish Championship trophy on home turf before continuing the celebrations with us later that day at Køge Town Square.”

Head Coach Kristian Mørch is looking forward to what could be a special day for both the team and the city.

“We know what is at stake, and we are excited to play in front of our home supporters. The players have worked incredibly hard throughout the season, and now we have the opportunity to decide it all on our home field. We hope to see a great crowd at the stadium and once again feel the amazing support that has followed us throughout the year. If we succeed in securing the championship, it will not only be a victory for the team, but for the entire city of Køge. It will be the result of a strong community and a city that has supported us every step of the way,” says Kristian Mørch.

In collaboration with Køge Municipality, HB Køge Women is planning a major celebration at Køge Town Square on Saturday, June 13 at 7:00 PM, should the championship be secured.

The celebration is expected to include:

• Recognition of the players from the main stage
• Remarks from Mayor Ken Kristensen
• Live performence from music artist Skinz
• Meet-and-greet opportunities, photos, and autographs with the players
• Official merchandise sales
• Special entertainment and other surprises
• A community celebration of the city’s team
