19-year-old Andrea Friis joins HB Køge Women

HB Køge Women have signed 19-year-old Andrea Friis, effective 1 January 2026. The young Danish centre-back joins from Brøndby IF, where she has also played several matches in the A-Liga.

Sporting director Jonas Nielsen says about Andrea:

“For several years, Andrea has been regarded as one of the biggest defensive talents in Danish women’s football. Even at a very young age, she has gained valuable experience at the highest level, which is reflected in her many appearances in the A-Liga. Along the way, Andrea has been challenged by injuries, which have naturally limited the number of league matches she has played compared to early expectations. However, this does not change our strong belief in her potential. On the contrary, we are convinced that Andrea possesses the quality, mentality, and developmental capacity to become a regular and vital centre-back for HB Køge Women in the future.”

In addition to her time at Brøndby IF, Andrea has represented Denmark at several youth national team levels: 3 appearances for the U16s, 5 for the U17s, and 1 for the U19s. She is now excited to pull on the black-and-blue shirt, which she sees as an important step in the right direction for both her ambitions and her development.

“I am really happy to have signed with the club. It’s a place with big ambitions and strong conditions for development, which I see as a great opportunity to grow at the highest level alongside such skilled players and staff. I am very much looking forward to starting with the team and getting underway.”

Andrea will meet her new teammates when the players gather for pre-season at the beginning of January.
