Who are we hiring?
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Finance Manager/Økonomichef to lead the accounting and finance operations for this women’s football organization. The role is well-suited to an experienced accountant who is passionate about women's football and comfortable operating within a small, start-up organization. This individual plays a critical role to ensure that HB Køge Kvindefodbold operates at the highest standards of budgeting and financial reporting, providing timelyfinancial information with insights and analysis to support sound decision-making. The individual will also make sure that accounting operations are aligned with all compliance requirements. This role will report to the President, HB KøgeKvindefodbold ApS.
What will you do?
Accounting, financial reporting and compliance
- Maintain the club's ongoing bookkeeping and ensure accurate, timely financial statements in compliance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act, the Danish Financial Statements Act, and DBU/UEFA Chapter 10 reporting obligations.
- Manage relationship with the club's external auditor and coordinate audit activities to ensure the audit is completed on time.
- Manage relationship with tax preparer to ensure proper tax return filings in compliance with all regulations.
- Retain organized financial records and documentation of processes. Review and adjust processes for a consistent and strong financial controls environment.
Budgeting and forecasting
- Lead all financial planning activities such as budgeting and forecasting working closely with president and other leaders of the organization.
- Prepare monthly financials, monitor variances against the budget and create reporting to review with leadership.
- Prepare monthly cashflow forecast updates and compare to budget to review with leadership.
- Create financial models as requested for scenario analysis.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge with Danish accounting and tax requirements; experience in sports is an advantage
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software; understanding of Microsoft Business Central is an advantage
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Software proficiency required
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively at all levels within an organization
- Solid analytical skills for interpreting financial data and trends
- Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Sense of professionalism, independent judgment, and an exceptional work ethic
- Ability to work and support operations for all matchdays which may fall on weekends, nights and occasional holidays.
