HB Køge Women strengthen the coaching staff with three prominent profiles

HB Køge Women continue strengthening the squad ahead of the coming season and are now expanding the staff with three strong competencies within coaching, physical performance, and mental training.

Joining the coaching team are Rikke Sevecke as Assistant Coach for HB Køge Women’s first team and U19, former Olympic athlete Mathilde Uldall Kramer as Head of Physical Performance, and former professional footballer Martin Bernburg as the club’s Mental Coach.

“With Rikke, Mathilde, and Martin, we significantly strengthen our professional expertise and level of detail. All three have experience as athletes at an extremely high level, which adds an important balance to the staff while also increasing our diversity — giving us more perspectives and nuances in our work with player development,” says Kristian Mørch, Head Coach at HB Køge Women.

Elite competencies to elevate top performance

Rikke Sevecke is a very well-known name in Danish women’s football and has played 54 caps for Denmark. She has previously represented international clubs such as FC Fleury 91, Everton FC Women, and Portland Thorns FC. Most recently, she worked as assistant coach at FC København Women.

“HB Køge Women is an ambitious and professional environment, and the club appealed to me immediately because I saw a unique opportunity to be part of a project with big ambitions. I can draw directly from my experience as a player — dealing with pressure, performances, and creating strong, motivating training environments. That gives me a solid foundation in my work with both the first team and U19,” says Rikke Sevecke.

Mathilde Uldall Kramer is a former top athlete in Danish athletics with major success in sprint and hurdle disciplines and is a specialist in physical optimization. She has won a total of 18 Danish senior championships in sprint and hurdling (60m, 100m, and 200m, with and without hurdles).

Over the past decade, Mathilde Uldall Kramer has represented Denmark at the European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. At the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she competed in the 4 x 100m relay, where the team set a new Danish record.

“HB Køge Women is an exciting project with high professionalism, strong work ethic, and a really great team. While many physical coaches primarily focus on general fitness, I see huge potential in more specific work with running technique, running economy, sprinting, acceleration, top speed, and technical details, along with a more high-performance–oriented approach to strength training. My goal is to optimize both the team and each individual player so everyone gets the most out of their potential,” says Mathilde Uldall Kramer.

Martin Bernburg has a background as a professional footballer, having played for FC København, FC Nordsjælland, and Brøndby IF. He has also played four caps for Denmark. With a Master’s degree in sports science specializing in sports psychology, he combines his top-level football experience with expertise in mental training and performance psychology.

“The club’s ambitions and its belief that a performance-psychology perspective can add something extra to the team made it easy to say yes to becoming part of the project. Together with the rest of the coaching staff, I look forward to contributing to a strong environment where a wide range of competencies will give the players the best possible conditions to develop and perform — both mentally and athletically,” explains Martin Bernburg.

With these three new profiles, HB Køge Women continue their efforts to build the strongest club in Danish women’s football.
