Role: Senior Team Strength and Conditioning Coach - Intern

Hours: Varied

Location: Spar Nord Arena, Køge

Contract Type: Internship

Duration: Full 2025 – 2026 Schedule

 

About HB Køge Women

First launched in 2016, bringing world-class football to the Sjælland region, the club earned promotion four years in a row to reach the Danish Women’s League, topping the table and earning a UEFA Women’s Champions League berth in its first year at the highest division. Over the past nine years, the club has been the pinnacle of Danish women’s soccer, winning three Danish Women’s League championships and competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The club reached the group stage of the 2021 UEFA Women’s Champions League, where it faced off against top clubs like Barcelona and Arsenal.

Who Are You?

  • You have a keen interest in Strength and Conditioning to improve performance levels.
  • Look to further the clubs practice through up-to-date research and continuous learning.
  • Have a clear attention to detail and be able to adjust programmes to different player levels
  • Are keen to help develop the premier performance environment for players and staff within Denmark.
  • Be a student working towards their Degree in Strength and Conditioning or another relevant degree.

What Will You Do?

  • Plan and deliver gym programmes focussed on improving athletic performance and reducing injury risk in female footballers.
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments to individual athletes’ dependant on specific development areas.
  • Help contribute to the club’s future performance vision.
  • Assist the Head of Performance in evaluating player progression and create interventions to improve performance.

What to Expect from Us

  • Breakfast and Lunch available on training days.
  • Attend and travel with the squad for games both within Denmark and Europe.
  • Freedom to create and explore different strength and conditioning models with professional athletes.
  • Special Requirements Of The Job
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25kg as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
